We are pleased to offer two different wine tasting events in our wine cellar:
Wine Tasting at Les Roches
Bringing Burgundy To You, created and run by English couple, David and Lynne Hammond who, since 2003, have lived and worked in this world-renowned French wine region. David and Lynne have an unrivaled knowledge of the region, its wines and foods. Bringing Burgundy To You literally brings Burgundy to you with tastings here at Les Roches, in English. Enjoy discovering the diversity of this famous and historic wine region, experience the aromas, flavours and enrich your knowledge of Burgundy wines. Their style is informative but informal and fun. For example, they will take you through the basics of Burgundy and provide a tutored tasting of red and white Burgundy wines from Bourgogne Regional to Premier Cru. They can be as technical or as informal as you wish - you choose. Wine Tastings are at a time to suit you – afternoon or evening – and last around 1hr30. The price is 45 euro per person for a tasting through to Premier Cru. This will include a tasting of two white wines and three reds including regional, village and premier cru and 65 Euro per person to include a tasting through to Grand Cru. To book, we require a 48 hour notice to arrange (this wine tasting is not available on Sundays).
Formal Overview of Burgundy Wines
This session is facilited by a local wine expert (Brendan Moore runs www.wine-liaisons.com and speaks both English and French). The event includes a tasting of 8 different wines (six white wines and two red wines). Brendan will give a short introduction to the region and provide some basic tasting techniques. He will supply tasting notes, maps and sample soils to illustrate the terroir. The wine tasting will be accompanied by freshly made Gougères. The cost is 300 euros (total for group – for up to 12 persons and allow at least two hours). Let us know in advance if you are interested in this event as we will need to reserve the time with Brendan.
