We are pleased to offer two different wine tasting events in our wine cellar:
Basic Overview of Burgundy Wines and Wine Tasting
The basic overview of the Burgundy wine region is conducted by us (Tobias). The session includes an overview of the wine-growing regions within Burgundy, brief history of wine production in Burgundy, discuss the various grape varieties used in Burgundy, clarify the Burgundy wine classifications, discuss the importance of the "terroir" in Burgundy and taste six Burgundy white and red wines. These sessions are offered everyday and is usually held at 18h00. Please let us know in advance if you are interested to ensure the session will be scheduled for a desired day. The session cost 35 euros per person.
Formal Overview of Burgundy Wines
This session is facilited by a local wine expert (Brendan Moore runs www.wine-liaisons.com and speaks both English and French). The event includes a tasting of 8 different wines (six white wines and two red wines). Brendan will give a short introduction to the region and provide some basic tasting techniques. He will supply tasting notes, maps and sample soils to illustrate the terroir. The wine tasting will be accompanied by freshly made Gougères. The cost is 300 euros (total for group – for up to 12 persons and allow at least two hours). Let us know in advance if you are interested in this event as we will need to reserve the time with Brendan.
